March 29. I am marking it on my calendar. I will be in Baton Rouge, probably at my dad's house, it's Spring Break and I promised I'd bring the kids. I'll be sure to light candles for you. Good to hear about the brainiac. Is he (for some reason I assume "he") good with his hands?
I'll probably be pigging out on crawfish, too, looking forward to them. Belle River crawfish, should be just about the perfect size. I want someone to throw me a crawfish boil, but since my Dad's wife is so sick, and my sister is now a vegetarian, I don't think I'll get one. They use humongous pots, and boil sacksful of crawfish with plenty of seasoning in the water, and throw in onions, red potatoes and corn on the cob, and then drain it and pour the food in mounds on picnic tables spread with newspapers. The kids won't eat crawfish, and I guess there is no point in a crawfish boil for one.
We had some visitors from Denmark once, they were so amazed, they were taking pictures to show back home. They eat crawfish in Denmark, too, but a dozen at a time, they use little surgical kits to open up the tiny legs so they don't miss any meat. |
