By the way, I agree with you 100%, although I'm more for the software switch which permanantly disables the ID; i.e. irreversible and unhackable. Hopefully the Powers That Be are discussing the alternatives right now. I want a version that lets me set the ID to an arbitrary value. If Intel doesn't supply it, I'm sure AMD will. I'm happy to pay extra for the added security.
