BIG B: This stock was already well into it's downtrend before the bears came out of hibernation. I've said it before. I don't know specifically what is wrong with GIFS, I just know that something is wrong. Stocks that are on the up and up don't act this way. That is why I will admit that I don't have one specific thing that says avoid GIFS. All I can do (and have done) is cite things that GIFS has done in the past that are of a questionable nature. Just remember nobody could figure out what was wrong with CTN except a Barron's article saying that the CEO's academic claims could not be substantiated. Look what happened. From $52 down to a bid of $1 on Instinet just this year! I suggest that some of you go back to the archives and read about SEXI and CAML. They have some similarities to GIFS. I'm not saying GIFS is another SEXI or CAML or CTN but why take the chance? Nobody can positively say that O.J. Simpson killed 2 people or not, but would you want your daughter to marry him anyway? Why not wait until they get NASDAQ or AMEX approval, a big-six audit etc. and have some credibility? Like Peter Lynch says, if a stock is going to go to $100 then what's the big deal about waiting for it to act like it is (i.e. 4,5,6,7 etc) before you buy it?
Having said all that I believe that GIFS has decent support around 1 1/2 (haven't looked at a chart lately) and will probably have a couple of more run-ups due to news releases before all is said and done. So go ahead and buy it. Just remember everytime there is a run-up like the one from 1/58 - 2 5/8 last week it becomes harder and harder to have future run-ups due to the overhead supply. There are lots of investors that bought GIFS above $2 and are just waiting to kill the next rally by dumping their shares to get out even. It is much easier to trade stocks like FTEL and GRNO that are making new highs and have NO ONE sitting on a loss.
