Dell executives file to sell 4.4 mln shares
WASHINGTON, March 2 (Reuters) - Dell Computer Corp. (Nasdaq:DELL - news) founder and chief executive Michael Dell and senior vice president Carl Everett are looking to sell a total of 4.38 million common shares worth about $357 million, according to Securities and Exchange Commission filings.

Michael Dell's proposed sale is part of an ''ongoing pattern of diversification'' and represents nearly 2 percent of his total holdings, currently at about 16 percent, Dell spokesman T.R. Reid said on Tuesday.

Dell, who founded the Round Rock, Texas, computer company in 1984 while attending the University of Texas at Austin, filed with the SEC to sell 4 million shares for about $326 million. Everett filed to unload 380,000 shares for approximately $31 million.

Dell shares fell 6/16 80-3/16 on Nasdaq.
