I appreciate your response, Eric. I looked back at your previous posts on sdti and see where you've been coming from. I've had some SDTI since early '95 (basis about 5 or so) and have slowly sold off bits for diversification at various points. So even at 15-20 I'm still ahead. Even got lucky enough to sell some at 47 (and put some in sunw and twx, which have tripled since! -- meantime sdti went down by a factor of 10 and then up by a factor of 6 and now back down by factor of nearly 2, or inother words is about 1/3 of where it was--wish I'd moved all of it over to sun/time!). I still think SDTI has promise, but agree that they've dropped a lot of balls in the past year. Fundamentally, though, they've still got RSA and the SecurID token biz, and still have a reasonable shot at doing well in pki, smartcard stuff. On the other hand, the verisign spinoff should have helped all us sdti holders from back then, and i don't understand why it didn't. Seems some companies give stockholders actual shares of spinoffs; any idea why/how sdti didn't?
