Dan, I have 3 problems with your scenario.

1) we both know neither Ford or GM are paying $3000. for their units.

2) I know that GM is buying the larger unit for their production plants. My guess is the units for the Ford Stores will probably be the smaller units for the mechanics to use.

3) I work for a Ford dealership and Ford DOESN"T buy anything for us, when they get new equipment they will get us the latest info and STRONGLY URG the DEALER PRINCIPAL to BUY. I believe and you can correct me if I'm wrong but I read somewhere that the agreement with FORD was to provide up to 6 units for each of its 6550 Ford and Lincoln-Mercury dealerships nation wide, and my Dealer Principal is preatty tight with his $$$ especially when it comes to spending BIG $$ for new equipment in our service dept. So you probably will see the Ford revenue over the next 2-3 years (IMO). Knowing how slow most dealership owners move when it comes to spending their precious $$$.

Dave

BTW.. The Ford Store I work for is one of the largest in the world..
