Our phones (amazingly enough) are about ten years old, and back then (pre-Internet), there would never be a situation where a telephone manufacturer would assume a phone line (and the LED) would be "on" for a huge portion of each day.

I am pretty sure there is no way to hook up an A/C adapter to our phone.

The only phones that I was ever aware had household current going into them were -- the old "princess" phones.

(It is possible "younger" readers will have no idea what a princess phone is (was)).

Jon.
