Richard,

There is not much to review. There are a total of 7 maps. Each map covers 12,000 square miles. The area of Maxam's interest, the Sauceda Mountains and the Sand Wash Mountians are a very minor part of these 12,000 square miles. There is also stapled together about 30 pages of text. In the text they explain their classificiation system for the maps. In order to consider an area as a possible deposit there are about a dozen criteria they look at. Some good indicators and some contr-indicators. The area Maxam claims to be deposits are minor. They have two or three indicators and as many contra-indicators.

These studies were done to help descision making with respect to disposition and planning of public lands. They do similar studies for every new wilderness because they don't want to include possible mineral deposits. I have seen much better places than these included in wilderness areas. Those 30 some pages don't just deal with copper, lead other metals both precious and metalic, they also cover all energy resources and all industrial minerals. When you boil it down to Maxam's area of interest, there is simply not much to review.

I was actually starting to give Maxam a little credit and looking forward to the COC; after this BS, I don't know. As of yesterday, Hewlett was still in California. Is Maxam sending samples there for testing?

Tim

PS My original thought was that maybe Dale needs to look for a more capable consultant, especially if this is the best that Hewlett can come up with to explain the mineralization.
