Hi Jim,
The WDM tranmitter/receiver pair has to multiplex the 16 full duplex optical fequencies and send them down the fiber to another WDM transmitter/receiver pair which will demux to get the 16 original optical frequencies. As to why APAT is only making a WDM receiver I do not know. I am not sure as to why APAT was not included in the list of people working on WDM but neither was NT.
