Hello again Croc,

Now this isn't paddling so don't get me wet. Our party of six just got confirmation on our wilderness permits for a small section of the Pacific Crest trail. 7/04/99 through 7/10/99.

Day#1 start at Onion Valley Cal.[9200 ft.] over Kearsarge pass [11,800] around Bullfrog lake and down to Bubbs Creek. 10.5 miles.

Day#2 Over Forster Pass [13,150 ft.] to Tyndall Creek [10,920 ft.] 12.0 miles.

Day#3 Over Bighorn Plateau [11,430 ft.] to Crabtree Ranger Station [10,650 ft.] 9 miles.

Day#4 Short hike to Guitar Lake [11,450] rest up, may even wash. 2.5 miles.

Day#5 Up and over Mt. Whitney [14,500 ft.] to Outpost Camp. 8 miles.

Day#6 Down to Whitney Portal and home. 5 miles.

Not too bad, 47 miles total. Parts of the hike will make an old man work a bit. Come on July.

Good luck to all and protect our great outdoors.
