CNTR has news again today!

CENTURA: Centura announces SQLHost 4.1
MAR 2, 1999, M2 Communications - London -- Centura Software Corporation (NASDAQ:CNTR) announces
today the launch of SQLHost 4.1, a software tool enabling open connectivity from user desktops to enterprise
DB2 data on the IBM S/390 platform. With superior performance, control, and security, SQLHost 4.1 is a
complete connectivity solution.
SQLHost 4.1 provides optimum connectivity to DB2 Universal Database for OS/390 allowing internal and
external customers to better find and manage information. SQLHost 4.1 enables companies to:

* Develop powerful, high-concurrency client/server and Web applications accessing DB2 and legacy data
sources on the S/390 platform

* Reduce MIS support backlog by providing end users with controlled, direct access to corporate data

* Minimize installation and configuration time with straightforward setup procedures

* Move DB2 data to and from local database servers

* Easily build GUI-based applications that connect to DB2 data

According to Rick Greenwald, principal for the Strategic Computing Services department of InterAccess, Inc.,
one of the largest independent regional ISPs in the nation, "DB2 customers can now benefit from SQLHost's
added support of IBM's new high-performance interface to TCP/IP. SQLHost integrates perfectly with your
networks based on industry standards and delivers security and performance to boot."

With SQLHost 4.1, IBM customers can use Centura's connectivity products deployed in conjunction with
leading-edge applications to leverage the increased performance improvements available in the new TCP/IP
stack found in IBM's OS/390 version 2, release 5 and above. In addition, SQLHost now offers support for
multiple cursors with Autocommit, support for DB2 4.1 stored procedures, an improved user interface for
configuration and the ability to auto-start the TCP/IP listener from the command line.

"Today customers are looking for more ways to access critical business data residing on S/390 from
client/servers applications and the Web," says Chris Holley, IBM Brand Manager, e- Network Communications
Server for OS/390. "Products like SQLHost from Centura offer new options for connecting to DB2 Universal
Database for OS/390 and leveraging the security and reliability of the S/390 Parallel Enterprise Server."

"Centura has always offered strong connectivity to your data," explains Scott Broomfield, chief executive
officer and president of Centura. "SQLHost is an excellent choice for getting DB2 and application data from the
mainframe, into the hands of the data consumers, because of its superior performance, flexibility to fit your
network architecture, and seamless integration with the security measures you already have in place."
