Gap up at the open...HOORAY!

SAN JOSE, CALIF. (March 3) BUSINESS WIRE -March 3, 1999--Aspect Telecommunications Corporation (Nasdaq: ASPT), a leading supplier of
customer relationship solutions, today announced the receipt of a multisystem order from Deutsche Telekom, Europe's largest telecommunications
company and the third largest carrier worldwide.

Under the terms of the agreement, Aspect will install more than 100 Customer Relationship Management application suites, including their ACD
(automatic call distributor) Server with award-winning Release 7 Software, throughout Germany over the next year. Deutsche Telekom's customer contact
centers will then support more than 15,000 agents in the company's sales and service divisions. This contract is part of a major drive within Deutsche
Telekom to continue to improve customer service by providing easier access to the Telekom sales and service functions. This investment will help
Deutsche Telekom meet the challenges that it will face from the increasingly competitive environment within the telecommunications market in Germany.

The deal further strengthens Aspect's relationship with the German telecommunications giant. In 1997, Aspect's German subsidiary, Aspect
Telecommunications GmbH, and Deutsche Telekom entered a non-exclusive, multiyear partnership in which Aspect solutions are sold through Deutsche
Telekom's vast sales and distribution network. The two companies have already teamed up to jointly design and install a number of customer relationship
solutions for many significant Deutsche Telekom customers.

According to Petra Frenzel, Aspect's managing director, Central Europe, "Our continued partnership with Deutsche Telekom reflects a shared
commitment to providing our customers with superior service. We look forward to working closely with our colleagues at Deutsche Telekom to implement
best-of-class technology that will meet their customers' evolving needs and provide a strong competitive advantage."

According to Dr. Richter, managing director of DeTeCSM, a Deutsche Telekom unit, "We were looking for a company with future-driven customer
relationship solutions and a sophisticated organization to accomplish such a huge project. The technology delivered by Aspect met all our requirements
for stability and flexibility and was very well accepted by the user community."

Deutsche Telekom

Deutsche Telekom, with revenue amounting to DM 67.6 billion in 1997 (first half of 1998, DM 34.4 billion), is Europe's largest telecommunications
company and the third largest carrier worldwide. Offering a complete range of products and services in Germany, Deutsche Telekom leads in mobile
communications services (+3.7 million subscribers), has over 45 million telephone lines in service and currently about 1.9 million customers for its online
service, T-Online. Deutsche Telekom serves customers around the world through its regional units in Europe, the Americas and the Asia-Pacific region,
