Remember Wallace-Kettering Neuroscience Institute? Lately discussions centered around bringing products to market seem to have forgotten this alliance. Excuse me if I'm wrong about that.

Here's an excerpt from the October 7th news release:

As part of the contract, Microvision will deliver an "alpha" version of the surgical head-wearable display device to Wallace-Kettering Neuroscience Institute within six to nine months. The team will also solicit the support of third-party medical products companies to join in several advanced visualization product initiatives.

"Neurosurgery is just the beginning," said Microvision president and CEO Rick Rutkowski. "We see tremendous opportunities for the technology within intraoperative magnetic resonance/computer tomography imaging, medical diagnostic and radiologic environments, physical therapy and visual stimulation for use in activation of magnetic resonance, positron emission tomography, and epilepsy studies, among others."

IMO, some of the applications above won't likely require FDA or FTC approval to market and they won't be waiting for military applications to prove itself.
