 iran and saudi arabia discuss oil markets
tehran, march 3, irna -- iranian ambassador to saudi arabia mohammad-
reza nouri shahroudi on wednesday conferred with saudi oil minister
ali nuaimi over the latest developments in the international oil
markets, and tehran-riyadh cooperation in stabilizing oil prices, the
foreign ministry public relations department reported.
stressing the importance of bilateral cooperation between iran
and saudi arabia as two important oil producing countries, the iranian
ambassador reiterated the necessity to boost oil prices.
referring to the efforts of the world arrogance to lower the
revenues of the third world countries, shahroudi also stressed the
need to act with wisdom and intelligence to safeguard the oil
producers national interests.
he also expressed iran's readiness to lower oil production
to achieve the desired results.
the saudi oil minister expressed his country's readiness to
negotiate on the issue, and further called on the producing
countries to abide by the signed agreements.
nuaimi also stated that cooperation and coordination between the
opec members and non-opec oil producing nations is vital to achieving
higher oil prices. he also called iran-saudi cooperation as important
in this regard.
