A year from now we'll all be looking at our IRID charts and saying "Darn, why didn't I load up at 20 last year". But right now it seems like a contrariwise play, doesn't it!

In fact, these birds have 1100 channels each. With any kind of loading efficiency at all, IRID could be making $1/channel minute and have plenty of cash flow, profit, etc. It's easier to lower prices than to raise them so it seems that starting with current high prices when they can't supply enough phones to meet demand, then reducing price as necessary to keep the phones sold up until when they start to fill the channels. I have no doubt that there is some price where they could fill the channel minutes available; the question is if this is at a profit making price. I suppose the economists have a term for this - something like "the law of diminishing marginal utility" or some such.... They idea is to get the max profit.
