I could be wrong, but isn't Siemens' acquisition a defensive move? Nearly a year ago TM threw down the gauntlet when he said NN was developing its own 50/100 gig switch. Siemens would be negligent not to make this move.

Martin Scorsese, Billy Bob Thornton and AMC's Nick Clooney Discuss the Classic Western "Winchester 73" Exclusively On AMC's Website As It Is Presented Simultaneously On the Network On-Air/Online Event On March 8 Celebrates AMC's New On-Air Look and Redesigned Website
On Monday, March 8, AMERICAN MOVIE CLASSICS will celebrate the network's new on air look and website redesign by presenting a simultaneous, on-air/online event where filmmakers Martin Scorsese and Billy Bob Thornton and AMC's Nick Clooney discuss a mutual favorite classic film, "Winchester 73," on the AMC website. At 10:00 PM ET/7:00 PM PT, viewers will be invited to log on to AMC's website (www.amctv.com) while they watch WINCHESTER 73. On-line commentary from Scorsese and Thornton will offer viewers a unique opportunity to see the movie from a filmmakers' perspective about everything from the script, the cinematography and the actors to the costumes, the direction and the location.
"This exciting event, which is the first of many to come, is a dynamic cross-platform experience that provides content for the tens of millions of Americans who are 'telewebbing' or 'toggling' -- using their televisions and computers at the same time," stated Kate McEnroe, President of AMC Networks. "It is a whole new way for movie lovers to explore a classic film and see it through the eyes of film makers."
Actor, director and Oscar-winning screenwriter Thornton is one of several new, celebrity on-air guest hosts appearing on AMC who will introduce the network's branded block of programming "Film Preservation Classics" on Saturdays at noon. Legendary director and producer Scorsese has an on-going relationship with AMC and is an active supporter of the network's annual film preservation campaign which funds the non-profit organization, The Film Foundation.
One of Scorsese and Thornton's favorite westerns, WINCHESTER 73 (1950), was stylishly directed by Anthony Mann and largely responsible for moviegoers' revived interest in the genre in the 1950s. This intense film follows Jimmy Stewart, the hero with a dark past, who relentlessly pursues the murderer of his father and seems to always be one step behind recovering his prized gun that was stolen by his nemesis. Shelley Winters, Dan Duryea, and Stephen McNally co-star.
AMERICAN MOVIE CLASSICS is the premiere 24-hour movie network featuring award-winning original productions about the world of American film. With one of the finest, most comprehensive libraries of classic films from the 1930s through the 1980s and a diverse blend of original series, documentaries and interstitials, the service offers in-depth information on timeless and contemporary Hollywood classics. Through the network's multiple platforms -- AMC's website (www.amctv.com), AMC's original broadband programming and AMC Magazine -- the entertainment provider informs passionate movie fans about the history behind the films.
