Enhanced MIPS Based Processor Provides Advanced I/O Capability. biz.yahoo.com Is this an I2O device which contains IxWorks ? not sure. I found this on the LSI web site lsilogic.com "What is the I/O Processor mode and what is its benefit to the system? In this mode, the IOP will operate as a dedicated I/O processor, servicing requests for transfers of data and commands between external peripherals and devices and the system, and eliminating use of interrupt calls which could detract from system performance. This increases the amount of processing power that is subsequently available to application code and, in the end, increases the overall capability of the system" Sounds alot like I2O !!! any ideas anyone ? It is also worth noting that LSI owns Symbios which big into I2O. Regards JC.
