Usually, they point out the follies of the thread with facts to support them. Two, they have ulterior motives, such as being a short seller or disgruntled ex-employee. In this scenario, SI probably serves no purpose to them except to allow them to vent their anger. Three, being negative is inherent in their personality. Except the 1st type [incidentally, there are quite a few of them here on SI,] reasonable discourse is not possible.
