I don't even think Quicken.com knew what they were into a year ago.

Intuit doesn't even bother to mention it in their 10Q as an event.

sec.gov

Everything else yes...the CheckFree thing with Quicken.com no.

On March 24, 1998, Intuit announced an agreement in principle with Bank of
America, TCI and @Home to form a venture to develop a system designed to deliver financial services to consumers over their television sets. The venture is
expected to provide financial services from a variety of financial institutions
and other content providers utilizing Intuit technology. The establishment of
this venture is subject to the negotiation and execution of definitive
agreements and all appropriate regulatory approvals, and therefore there can be
no assurance that the venture will be established until such agreements and
approvals are in place.

I don't think that deal every came off as the time ran out, while BOA was being absorbed. And it comes back to what's in the Black above. It's CheckFrees' technology which has the ability to power these types of sites/portals...ie Intuit don't have that type of technology.

I wondered then what that Intuit phrase meant....so is the fight over who owns the right to license the technology to portals, or just that CheckFree can't do it now?
