The church is a group of people of like beliefs. They pool their money to construct a building in which to meet. They find one person among themsleves or a like minded outsider. They pay him to teach them so he has the time to do it. If he had to provide for his family via another job, he would not be able to help the people of the church. This is a group of people that should also reach out and help those within the group and outsiders. Year end no $ profit.

I fail to see the comparison.

In your example, everyone wants to drink together or at least have somewhere to go to enjoy each others company. So, they pool their money, buy a building, hire someone to pour and listen to their conversations. He takes their money, buys more drink, and goes out to the community and dispenses some of the leftover drink and listens to their troubles. Then he gets some of the people from their meeting place to help him fix up the communities homes, or visit them in the hospital. Year end, no $ profit. I think not!

You know as well as I do that churches must be tax free. Our morality in this country has declined as it is. Can you imagine what it would be without the influence of churches?
