I had made a cursory examination of the patent and had erroneously concluded that it didn't contain much. Actually, it contains quite a lot. I'm studying it now. The information in the patent supports the view that Palmer's development is tops down and so my efforts in extended electrodynamics, non-linear Maxwell soliton-like solutions, is somewhat superfluous. The patent indicates a straight forward method of beam manipulation using feedback from support and control semiconductor lasers. As previously surmised the device is quite clever.
