Re: NT and Warnings

Thread,
As much as I like NT (they have products for ALL last mile technologies), I always get worried about this time of the quarter. Funny how I am not the only one judging by the following article. It they are going to do it, the pattern has been to wait to jump on the "warnings," bandwagon. So now would be a good time. But if they don't plan on it, then now would also be a good time for Roth to come out and say so.

Northern Telecom shares hit by 3Com profit warning

TORONTO, March 3 - Jittery investors pushed Northern Telecom Ltd. stock down on Wednesday after a U.S. networking firm cautioned that its profits would dip below expectations.

3Com COMS , the second largest U.S. computer networking firm, was downgraded on Wednesday by several brokerages. It announced a day earlier that earnings for the third quarter ended February 28 would be $0.23 a share, far below the First Call consensus of $0.36 a share.

Nortel fell 5.6 percent or C$4.90 to C$82.60 on the Toronto Stock Exchange in late day dealings, making it the biggest net loss leader.
