Qualcomm may also forge a strategic relationship in its
infrastructure business. Depending on the outcome of the
possible relationship, the company may seek to raise additional
money or funding, Jacobs said. He did not provide further
details.


I just had one of those light-bulb-over-head moments. The QCOM CFO has been reiterating the fact that they will need to raise cash for vendor financing when I really didn't see the pressing need. He has repeated this fact many times, again even at the analyst meeting Feb. 24. Could it be that the financing will be needed for the expected rush of new orders that will come from this potential infrastructure joint venture? Makes sense to me.
