IBM wasnt less paranoid Tech2000 - they were coming off the same DOJ anti-trust litigation that MSFT is going through right now. (DeJaVu Tech?)

MSFt is illegal in their tactics - that will eventually come out in the wash - even though you and the rest of the board's cheerleading squad dont want to believe it.

Linux IS a threat to MSFT in both the server and desktop arena. Linux is quickly gaining the Industry tech support it needs to be considered by the Corporate consumer to be viable. It is 10 fold more reliable. It is much more flexible an OS for the Corp. consumer to customize for their needs. AND - unlike MSFT's OS, it is rolling out with new releases several times over when MSFt sits on their OS with delay after delay after delay. Sorry but most industry customers cannot tolerate this kind of delay for too long. MSFT's please wait for us message is wearing very thin on this customers. They cannot afford to sit idle and wait for promises that MSFT has become notorious for breaking.

Linux is only one of several threats facing MSFT Tech2000. You are only looking at one.
