John,

I have some new info on Alanco. The 223k shares that traded today were a clean-up (we heard that before) of the convert seller. 1 million shares were created when bonds issued were converted into stock at $1.34 (avg price). Bond holders don't always want to hold equity, so consequently they sell off the shares when they get them.

I heard some good news from the Walmart side. The woman in charge of the snack bar division got a STANDING OVATION at a Walmart company meeting for her strong performance and results. Apparantly they want to add the Fry Guy in far more stores than the original plan. Now they are talking about all the Sam's Clubs and Sam's Superstores. I don't know the quantity of these stores, so let's assume (for now) 500 more stores will be added. We can assume the same high traffic over these locations and arrive at the following additional eps.
500 stores X 80 customers/day X 360 days X 13 cents/order = $1.5 million additional earnings on 33 million shares (could be 36 million shares by year end) or $0.045 cents.

Throw a 10 multiple on the earnings stream of 4.5 cents to get an additional 45 cents per share additional stock price for ALAN. Good news is good news. I don't know when this will be announced.

For now, at least the downward drift we've seen in ALAN is over now that we've seen the reason...the seller was hanging over the stock... it's a shame that everyone else knows that 1 million new shares were created in January due to conversion and yet the average Joe (us) doesn't know what's going on.... I still feel there is a lot left to be desired about how the stock exchanges and NASDAQ works. We are still left to our own devices... so let's support each other.

For further details or clarification, call my broker Steve Felix at Paine Webber 800-423-6451. He'll give you excellent execution and reasonable rates, but more importantly, he's right on top of this story!

Best regards all!
