DELL COMPUTER said late Monday it cut prices on workstation computers, offering computers with two
processors for prices comparable to what rivals are charging for workstations with a single processor. A
Dell Precision WorkStation 210 with two 450 megahertz Intel Pentium III processors would cost $2,372,
at 9.5% the most significant price drop from the previous prices. Dell's workstation prices now range in
some cases lower than the equivalent models of rivals HEWLETT PACKARD CO and COMPAQ COMPUTER,
despite offering an extra processor. A Dell spokesman credited the company's direct-sales model with
providing the cost savings enabling it compete on pricing. (Reuters 06:50 PM ET 03/01/99) For the full

DELL COMPUTER founder and CEO Michael Dell and senior vice president Carl Everett are looking to sell a
total of 4.38 mln common shares worth about $357 mln, according to SEC filings. Michael Dell's proposed
sale is part of an "ongoing pattern of diversification" and represents nearly 2% of his total holdings,
currently at about 16%, Dell spokesman T.R. Reid said on Tuesday. Dell, who founded the Round Rock,
Texas, computer company in 1984 while attending the University of Texas at Austin, filed with the SEC
to sell 4 mln shares for about $326 mln. Everett filed to unload 380,000 shares for approximately $31
mln. (Reuters 02:07 PM ET 03/02/99)

DELL COMPUTER is launching an online store that will sell 30,000 electronics products and its own
personal computers through a venture called Gigabuys.com, the Wall Street Journal reported in its March
3 issue. The site will be unveiled. The move is in line with other personal computer giants' expansion of
their online retailing efforts. Dell, which is the largest seller of computers online, said it wants to eke out
a mark in the accessories market before a start-up or existing operator gets there, the newspaper
reported. Gigabuys.com will offer detailed product information and the ability to track an order, officials
told the newspaper. These features already exist at Dell.com. (Reuters 04:03 AM ET 03/03/99) For the full
