Well with or without anyone donating some shares to the cause...I went to the symposium....that is one HUGE OVERSTATEMENT of the event...
It was in a very long and narrow room at the hotel...I went to check out the badges....
Right....
No badges...about 20 chairs for people attending...20...including myself...about 14 people attending...I was expecting, shall we say something a little more substantial.
Everyone was very courteous, they had two Betacams rolling and lots of light boxes for the entire panel...which was 1/2 the size of the audience...maybe a little more. This should be a tape worth watching...mmmmmm mmmmmmm
In other words there were 9 of them by the end of the very long afternoon...
The presentations covered all the divisions...and Yuri was the first post luncheon-break speaker...He said nothing of substance other than saying how they had managed to work with his new consortium of Russian Aerospace companies and their equivilant of NASA...
In all fairness this has been quite an accomplishment by anyone working with the Russians this closely.
THE NEWS then came out...they have finally finalized the transfer documentation for the 3.....TU-160's.........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Each valued at somewhere between $175-$250 million US...plus the parts for the planes...and they are utilizing a hanger in the Ukraine for the maintainence of the super sonic bombers....
This for the space division and launching satellites from the atmosphere at mach 1.75...
These are the assets (which the moderator went over more than a couple times that they are in negotiations with the CPA's over the actual value that will be assigned to this huge ASSET) that will anchor this division...the one that will soon have a $5 million IPO...504 stock issue....I don't know much about the 504 part.
After explanations, models, many graphic panels visually displaying the various satellite launching sequences, and overheads to illustrate how they envisioned everything could happen, and talking about the next part of the equation...the AN-225...this is the largest plane in the world and can carry such items as the entire middle fuselage of a 747 inside!....will be the next part of the space division.
Much explantion of the per pound costs predicted for utilizing these jets to launch satellites....approximately $2000 per pound for satellites and the name IRIDIUM was used more than once....
At the moment the only competition is the Orbital Science group and their Pegasus launch program which sells for about $20000 per pound and can't launch very large units. The LEO market is one they hope to capture...
Rollout on this program in the next 3-5 YEARS....don't hold your breath.
And now for the coup de grace...after the ARC section and fully technical explanations of the planes, crews, equipment, ground stations, the Brazil demo in San Diego etc...that was the end of that section...
And at the end...after enduring overheads...can't they just get their act together and use power point or slides!!!!!!!!!!!!! GEESSHH
Let's fumble with overheads.....OYE
The big moment we had all been waiting for..the announcements and question and answer period....
As for PICS group....the ARC division...the one I believe that MOST ALL are banking on.....
NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everything is under a QUIET PERIOD for the next 60-90 DAYS>>>>>
Very sensitive and unable to make ANY COMMENT......
ZERO.....
Then the whole announcement basically became the the fact that they had received the 'pink slips' for the 3 TU-160's......
Nothing more....
I left in extreme disappointment sitting through tedious presentations...I got my press kit, video of the Caspar Weinberger show which will air this Sunday at 9amPST on CNBC.
And as for the stock repurchase...hasn't gotten off the ground.
Good night...
chris
and mail all shares, for what they may be worth to ....
