Nope, I just didn't explicitly deny the connection. In fact, I didn't even say that the features of the Middle Ages that I cited inevitably led to democracy, but did explicitly say that the causality was complex. A case could be made (in fact, Nietzsche himself made a version of it) that Christianity leads to democracy, due to its exaltation of the humble. But I didn't try to make it.
