Tech, I guess you can play the naive game. AOL would be last on my list of companies that are threatening MSFT. Where that logic came from is beyond me. AOL is not even in the OS/SOS/NOS world, it is not in the DBMS world, it is not in the Directory Services World.

Secondly, why would you think that IBM even cares about MSFT as being a threat to it? IBM is 4-5 times MSFT's size. IBM is not out-right trying to take down MSFT in any stretch of the imagination. The only threats the IBM is putting on MSFT would be in its huge push for Java and in the Groupware business.

You are as paranoid as Bill Gates Tech. The world is not after MSFT. Definately many of the industry players want to put MSFT back in its place as a good little player in the industry instead of the industry bully it current is and has been.

But if you want to naively think that SUN, Linux, Novell, Oracle and others are not a threat to MSFT - then these industry players would suggest that you convince the MSFT Execs that. Complacency has always proven to be the main factor that has brought giants to their knees.

The Next MSFT!!! ROFL!!! Do you bow to The MSFT logo everytime you boot up your PC Tech? It sounds like you believe MSFT and Gates to be a God! They the world wonders why Canadians produce soooo many Comedians. It comes naturally to ask.
