All,
This morning CNBC is reporting an expected agreement between IBM and Dell by which IBM will provide services to Dell customers, especially for their anticipated new high-end Server/ Workstation corporate users.

---Is IBM trading long term higher GPM Harware revenues for short term, but more instant, Service Div. revenues?

---Is IBM swapping their unique product differentiation, in its ability to service high-end systems users, for lower margin Services revenues, from Dell?

---Should this deal be interpreted as an attempt by Gerstner to fortify the weakening revenues from IBM's Mainframe and PC business?

---Will the agreement further reduce IBM's GPMs by allowing Dell to gain a larger share of IBM's higher GPM Server/Workstation market, (which was previously dominated by IBM, SUNW and HP)?

Will IBM gain entry into a new and significantly large customer base?
Jules
