Wingman: Well said. The one point, however, that you may not be focusing on is the AOL content. Instant messaging, profiles of other members, info, etc. In fact, once you are on AOL, communicating with others, within the system, is very fast, even if you are on a 28 k modem. I have had ATHM at my house since the end of December. I kept AOL also. I spend most of my time searching the web through ATHM and the browser the tech installed (netscape). However, I still like to play on AOL, and the ATHM speed is helpful in that regard because I can log on virtually instantly. I would never access the web through AOL now that I have ATHM. That speed is the advantage that ATHM has over AOL. And, I might add, that is a BIG advantage. |
