Rick, ??! That's funny, I replied to this and now it's gone. Blackflies in Canada used to be like your gnats. It's the season there for them now, so keep away.

Globalstar has already arranged some launches with Kazakhstan, using MIRVs, [multiple independent targetted re-entry vehicle designed for landing nukes on USA]. Talk about swords into ploughshares. They have also awarded some other contracts and those would be for the initial launches. News today that a company in Russia has been awarded distribution rights in Russia for Globalstar. They said mid 1997, but I don't think that is right. Mid 1998 is when I thought they were planning initial commercial service.

I think there are going to be masses of satellites launched over the next few years and Loral Space will no doubt get its share.
