Lets forget DELL and IBM for a moment.

This alliance should have severe impact on some of the competitors. SUNW, HWP and CPQ should be hit hard, GTW to a lessor extent. MSFT could be a huge loser, if this new alliance start developing a Linus platform. Just imagine the % cost of the OS as the total cost of PCs at all levels. Dumping Windows from a <$500 PC could exceed a 10% cost savings.

Needless to say, the market never agrees with me. None of the above are taking a proportional hit today, some are even going up.
