My responses are drifting further and further off topic and into idle speculation. I should probably take them to 'Waiting for the big Kahuna'. However, with production mainly off shore klic is linked to the world economy, not just what's happening in the U.S. of A.

I don't believe that Clinton is responsible for the prosperity the country has seen during his administration, he's just lucky to have been in office during this phase of the business cycle. I really think that Greenspan is a similar beneficiary of the waves. His ability to affect the economic climate is largely illusory. He's a wonderful actor, watching him you'd think he actually had the ability to steer the U.S. economy. That's his greatest asset in my opinion. Setting interest rates has a moderating effect, but in the long run he has about as much ability to control direction as a kid cupping his hand in the wind out the car window.

Nobody knows where we're heading, but I'm betting that the up and down motion will continue, and that we haven't entered any 'new era' of economic stability/prosperity. I'm just trying to figure out how to extract a little energy from the waves.
