Legalization does remove it, to a large extent. What you usually find is the mob using the legal business (like trucking or construction) to perform other operations (money laundering from drug activity....which is another case for legalizing drugs...funny how that all works together, isn't it?)

As for the mob in gambling, they remain on the fringes, as I pointed out. When most of their illegal activities (drugs) are legalized, the mob will fade away over time.
