mohan...msd is the epitome of the samurai warrior business school...

first win/tel....now ibm....the purest of symbiotic relationships...

or perhaps, the death of a perceived "white box maker"...the birth of a technological powerhouse...

ibm would not sell their technological souls for a mere $17b...to a competitor who is apt to eventually find the solution to surpass the lesser growing master....it is the path of least resistance...business expansion without cash outlay...the $17b, to be looked at as nothing more than a shift in future vendor payments..next step may not bode well for unisys and wang, when their service agreements up with dell....or even gateway...the wealth in any company is in its business to business relationships...consumers can be fickle and change brands based on price or impulse...once a business commits to a franchise they are a bit locked in...

msd follows the japanese model exactly, and even improves taking in account the occidental mind..

why would big blue sell technology for high end notebooks....that compete with thinkpads....hmmm, interesting.....the next few years will prove dynamic....let the analysts and their sycophants look only a quarter at a time....or the posters who predict an absurd five year dell range trade of 10-50...the money is to be made in the future.....great time to go long or sell puts...good luck to those with vision and courage! ed a.
