a) I never said there wasn't a mob presence. I said they weren't involved in gambling. They aren't. How do you launder money? You go to the casino, gamble and make it appear that you've run up winnings (one way). You buy off a pit boss and have him transfer funds is another. Point is, the mob doesn't RUN gambling anymore, and they aren't in the front office. THAT is what I was saying. YOU implied more.

b)there was bound to be a problem with a mob presence. Point to an industry where there isn't. The dairy industry is rife with mob links. Why? They control the trucker's union. The difference between dairy and gambling? Gambling is considered an amoral activity that corrupts. So any appearance of the mob is used as a signal to support that claim. Why isn't that same claim being laid at the feet of the dairy industry?
