To Anyone-
My undertanding is that INTC & AMD support an annex to the Pentium/Ppro
specifications that describes instructions that have not heretofore been used.
Can anyone shed any light on the nature of these instructions, why Intel
designed them and then buried them in an annex, and whether or not
Cyrix's decision not to support the specification annex could come
back to haunt them? Could INTC/AMD use this as a means of casting FUD
(fear, uncertainty, doubt) on Cyrix chips? Is there any realistic possibility
that the instructions described in the annex might be used in the future,
thereby undermining Cyrix's claim to Intel compatibility?

Thanks in advance for responses,

Larry
