LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 3, 1999--e-MedSoft.com (OTC BB:MDTK), formally known as MedTech Inc., Wednesday announced that Margaret Harris has joined the company as its chief financial officer.
Harris is an experienced CPA and professional in health-care administration and acquisition. She began her career with Arthur Andersen & Co., still the largest public accounting firm in the world. Harris was vice president of finance for American Medical International Inc., serving an 18-year reign with AMI in which she had responsibility over 50+ accounting employees.
AMI was one of the largest hospital management companies in the world, and was a predecessor to the current industry giant Tenet Healthcare Holding Corp. During her tenure at AMI, Harris had supervisory responsibility -- among other things -- for the company's annual reports and SEC filings and was in charge of three large hospital chain mergers and various other acquisitions.
John F. Andrews, president and CEO of e-MedSoft.com, said about the appointment: "I am pleased that Ms. Harris decided to join e-MedSoft.com and excited about the opportunity that her hire presents to the company. It was important to executing the company's strategy that we concentrate our search for a CFO on the health-care side of the industry in view of the health-care professional's experiential understanding of how cost containment and efficiencies should be implemented."
About e-MedSoft.com The Java technology-based solution, called e-MedSoft.com, was developed by HealthMed Inc. and Sanga International Inc. and is the first subscription-based health-care management system available for delivery through the Internet. e-MedSoft.com is referred to as "subscription based" because users access the software for a small fee and a per-transaction charge.
Previously, health-care organizations would pay an upfront fee to license software, then pay ongoing maintenance fees for upgrades and service, with ongoing investments in hardware and software for more features and greater capacity. The medical software is a complete health-care management system.
Through the Internet, its Java-based integrator allows the MedTech software to communicate across diverse platforms and languages in unlimited capacity, allowing for the interlink of doctors, hospitals, clinics, HMOs, insurance companies, financiers and government agencies.
The ease and low cost with which it can be implemented, its Internet connectivity and its ability to allow for the exchange of information across diverse platforms and systems bode well for its widespread adoption by the medical community. For more information, see mdtk.com.
