Re: DSLAM and DSL-Lite Cartoon

Frank,
I found a nice little cartoon that I can understand at:
aware.com

The top image has a DSLAM in it. Right above the DSLAM is a box labeled, "Switch." I've seen these all over the place. The tech calls them "doghouses." Is that where the DSLAMs will go? In those doghouses sitting in peoples yards?

I'm lost on the bottom image because I don't know what DSL-Lite is? But it appear that with DSL-Lite they don't need a DSLAM? It must mean that RBOC's will be able to rapidly and cheaply deploy DSL-Lite services soon as they come to grips with losing their T-1 and ISDN revenues.

Any comments appreciated.
