I'm sure none of you have missed this news and you'll see it once you stop looking up historical T-bill information.

cbs.marketwatch.com

IBM and Dell enter into a purchasing agreement.

The two PC giants struck a 7-year pact for Dell to purchase storage, microelectronics, networking and display technology from IBM. The companies will also cooperate on technology development.

Well, if you've been watching Maxtor, you'll see they have a risk of loosing a lot of business to IBM and one could also question what this will do to RDRT, who is a big supplier to Maxtor?

From a RDRT perspective, they do supply WD and one has to wonder what's really going on there with the IBM relationship and whether some of these WD/IBM drives will be going in to Dell.

Apparently, Seagate was also feeling a market cold shoulder from this new pact and they made an announcement I just heard on CNBC that they would feel no material impact from this agreement. Maybe there's a printed announcement to this affect?

Anyway, lots of interesting news in PC's and storage and their component suppliers.

Regards,

Mark
