Clearly a lot of commercial transactions will be done over the internet instead that in person, just like there are catalogue outlets.

So the bears out there who think that Amazon will not survive are either (a) out to lunch or (b) belive that the competition will be so fierce that all e-tailers will loose money forever and ever.

There are very few sectors in the economy that are chronic money loosers. Hard drive manufacturers seem to be one. So to the bears out there, can you think of another one? Can you give a reason why e-commerce will be one of those exceptional sectors where everybody looses money?
