On a buy-out, the buyer would be covetous of the brand
name. CompUSA is a household name brand that, if parlayed
effectively, could be used in internet or other means.
The number of computer hawking web sites is enormous.
A trusted reputation is worth its weight in gold.
The brick and mortar aspect would be the operation that
a buyer would like to sell, alter, or close down.
I could really see someone buy the company, use the brand
name on the web and close all but the really profitable
stores the first year. Then slowly close the remaining
stores over the years to come until the transition of
brand identity to the web is complete. Needs a strong
management team, but would be viable.
