Well, I guess it isn't important that you aren't convinced that the first commerically successful object-oriented machine architecture, language and operating environment is already being embraced by the likes of IBM and Microsoft on a scale never before seen. I can only surmise that you aren't actually paying attention to what is being unfolded in front of you on a daily basis. Do you really, seriously believe that Toshiba (latest announcement) and Sun and Oracle and Intel and IBM and Microsoft are collectively spending billions for something as mundane as an improved language with a questionable future? It doesn't matter, I guess, you any everybody else will be using Java components sooner rather than later and the entire industry is going to be better off because of this. Oracle will migrate it's tools to that environment and embed Borland's Java technology into it's tools. This will mean significant revenues for a company that could be profitable with a small fraction of what's coming down the pike. Like I said, Oracle really is the ticket here.
