Your break-up analysis makes sense to me, but I wonder how much the analog modem business is actually worth. Hayes has gone under. We're looking at a market doomed to obsolesence. (Of course, this begs the question why 3Com bought US Robotics in the first place.) Also, it appears that Eric wants to sell the networking business, not focus on it. I'm not sure why either, but it may be capitulation to the stiff competition from Cisco and the others. Doughboy.
