"Afetrall, the upper managemnt of WDC came from IBM. They are considered one of their own."
The upper management of almost every drive company worked at IBM at some point or another. This is certainly true of WDC, as you say, but also of Fujitsu and Maxtor. And many upper management people at SEG and QNTM also worked there, even if not necessarily the very top people. I believe it is also true of the man of who heads Samsung's drive division. If you're in drives, you can't shake the shadow of IBM.

That is why SEG probably made a mistake a few years when the chose not to buy IBM's drive division because it was too big for them to digest, they thought (this was before Gerstner got there), even though there some rumors of discussions between them. Now they have an elephant in their backyard.

BTW, CPQ is QNTM's largest customer, HWP is second. AAPL is either 4 or 5, I think. (GTW and DELL are ahead of them, I believe, though am not sure).
