The fact that there is no record of sales means nothing. They could be filed later; they may have just short sold or bought put options through their brother-in-law's uncle's baby sitter's neighbor.

This fiasco reminds me of my wonderful Cityscape purchase: averaging down as management insisted business was wonderful; then suddenly the stock plunged severely for days in a row, while management was silent. Finally, they announced their business was doomed, and had $9/share of losses for two quarters in a row. Those bastards are probably still living in fancy houses and driving Mercedes, whereas they should be in a 10' x 10' jail cell.

As long as corporate managers can get away with lying to shareholders, there is no reason for them to tell the truth. And they can get away with lying, because they have lawyers and insurance companies backing them up, and they know the SEC can't throw them all in jail.
