wily, What is more likely is 18 months from the start of chip (that is, the circuits that make up the chip) design. He is getting warmer. I can believe 18 months from the beginning of RTL entry to the the present. Add about 6 months at the front end for architecture, and another 3-6 months to get it into production, and the story holds together. Does anyone know when Dirk Meyer went to work for AMD? Scumbria
