Hope you are right. I do think that the Web "initiative" is two years too late and that Star has been riding on the old proprietary technology for so long that their technological innovation became too narrowly focused. Nice to see the Y2K demo etc, but the technological context was already out of date.
Yes it will bounce, but the damage done by the "do nothing" announcement will take some time to repair. Whoever was responsible for that, regardless of Star's technological shortcomings, should be taken to the woodshed. It was totally unforgivable.
I suppose it's possible that the internal Board struggles were of such an overwhelming nature that resolution of them was seen internally as being important enough to require a press release. The reality is that their ability to reach agreement between themselves did nothing but detract from their overall objective.
Wouldn't worry me too much, but it was so easy to see before it happened. Who missed the point?
