ecommerceman, I will be very HONEST here now, cause this is how I feel. Personally, I'm not to impressed and here is why..... Elcom says they will compete against Cyberian Outpost and some others..... Here are just 2 examples....... If you take a look at Cyberian Outpost e-commerce web-site, its far better than Elcom's here is the link: outpost.com also take a look at Onsales's e-commerce site: onsale.com Now, PLEASE take a good look at Elcom's e-commerce site: elcom.com And tell me what you all think????? Personally, I feel MAJOR improvements are needed, if they really want to capture the "eyeballs" and generate an enormous amount of traffic on their web-site, they must absolutely do something too improve it. And then once they do, start to advertise, make some deals with AOL, Lycos, Netscape etc. Try to get a few channels from other web-sites directing the "eyeballs" right too Elcom.com. Just like, some have already done with AOL..... aol.com Elcom says within the next few weeks they will launch their Auction Web-Site. Hopefully, it will be FAR better than these......Auction Site's...... IF they really want to compete bid.com ubid.com ebay.com onsale.com
Otherwise, personally I feel they don't have a chance to compete against the above mentioned companies. I know that I sound negative! As a shareholder of Elcom International though I'm a bit disappointed, cause I have this feeling THEY could do a lot better, this is how I feel. I'm no tech e-commerce wizard though and would appreciate comments, from others?? on Elcom's NEW e-commerce web-site! I'm still holding on to my investment, and hoping management could really do a better job in turning this company around. If also in the near term future they decide too spin-off Elcom.com, they absolutely need more exposure, and to get exposure they must get some analyst coverage. Hopefully Investor Relations and management is already working on that.
regards Giota
